What a Solar Permit Asks For
Counties don’t all ask for the same drawings. This is what they usually want for a solar; we confirm your county’s list in the quote.

Solar permit FAQ
Solar Permit Questions
Short answers to what people ask before ordering. Ask anything else in your quote request.
Get Price QuoteDo I need a permit for solar panels?
Yes, in almost every county. Your utility also has its own interconnection approval.
Do I need an engineer for roof solar?
Many counties ask for a structural letter confirming the roof can carry the panels. Our licensed PE partner can provide one where licensed.
Who does the electrical drawings?
Usually your solar installer or electrician. We draw the site plan and roof layout, and coordinate the structural letter.
What are fire setbacks on the roof?
Clear strips near ridges and edges so firefighters can work on the roof. Your fire code sets the widths.
