Addition permit FAQ
Addition Permit Questions
Short answers to what people ask before ordering. Ask anything else in your quote request.
Get Price QuoteWhich drawings does an addition need?
Usually a site plan, existing and proposed floor plans, elevations and structural details. Many counties ask for them as one set.
Do I need an engineer for an addition?
Often, for the foundation and any beam where an existing wall is opened up. We coordinate it through our licensed PE partner.
How close to my neighbour can I build?
It depends on your side setback, commonly 5 to 10 feet. We dimension the new walls to every line.
Can you draw my house as it is now?
Yes. From measurements, photos or old plans, we draw the existing house first, then the addition.
